Complete Catcher Protocol
A two-way promise of work, growth, and excellence
A covenant is not a contract of rules. It is a promise we make to each other. The catchers who transform show up, do the reps, and speak up when stuck. Everything on this page flows from four core values.
What we stand for
These are the standards behind every drill, every review and every level. They apply behind the plate and they apply everywhere else.
We always pursue excellence everywhere: receiving, blocking, hitting, preparation, and mindset.
We never settle for good enough. Our character is even more excellent than our catching skills.
We always start at the bottom and earn the #1 spot. We get so good they can't help but play us.
We never complain when things don't go our way or act entitled when it gets hard.
We always serve first, doing the ‘lowly’ jobs with enthusiasm. We take the blame and give the credit.
We never think we're above the work, bury a teammate, or put our stats above the battery.
We always obsess over the fundamentals. We drill the basics until automatic, then drill more.
We never think we're too advanced for the small details that make us great.
We reach out the moment we feel stuck or behind. We never let frustration become weeks of no film. The best catchers ask the most questions.
The promise
This only works if all three hold up their end. That is the whole reason it is written down.
Our promise
The catcher's promise
The parent's promise
One from each session, every week, whatever else is going on. This is the promise that makes all the others possible.
At least one Catcher's Circle call a month. Being around other catchers doing the same work is half of why this holds.
Signed
We read it out loud, we talk about what each part actually means for your catcher, and then everybody signs. It takes a few minutes and families tell us it is the moment the whole thing starts to feel real.
Five things need to happen before you graduate Level 1.1. They are in order and none of them take long.
Come back to this when it gets hard. Somewhere around week three or four, most families hit a stretch where progress feels slow and the sessions feel like a chore. That is normal and it is exactly what this page is for. Read it again, pick the one value you are letting slide, and get back to filming this week.
